Abstract: Objects: to explore whether GIST influences the gastric myoelectrical activity. Methods: the EGG parameters of 27 cases of gastric GIST patients (GIST group) and 30 healthy volunteers (control group) were detected by the multi-channel electrogastrogram and were analyzed. Results: Compare with the fasting, the control group postprandial mean frequence (MF), mean amplitude (MA), and normal slow wave percentage (N%) increased, P<0.05. However, those postprandial parameters changes were not found in GIST group, P>0.05. Compared with Control group, the fasting MF and fasting MA increased, the fasting N% of lead 1,3,4 and postprandial N% decreased, both fasting and postprandial T% increased in GIST group, P<0.05 or P<0.01; the tachygastria incidence of GIST group was significantly higher than the controls (66.7% vs 3.3%, P <0.05). Conclusions: The existence of GIST may affect both fasting and postprandial gastric myoelectrical activity. The abnormal gastric electrical rhythm mainly displayed as tachygastria.
