Abstract: Abstract Objective: To detection bacteriostatic activity, uvioresistant ability, hygroscopicity, moisture and dermal sensitization of silk protein and to furnish information for product development of silk protein. Methods: Silk protein was divided into 5 groups of varying size according to artificial, and prepared to solution. To detection related biologic activity by using plate bacterial colony count, absorption, moisture absorption rate of saturated calcium carbonate solution, allergen exposure and stimulate contact. Results: The silk protein had certain antibacterial ability, and the effect of growth inhibitory was excellent on E. coli than Staphylococcus aureus. The uvioresistant time of silk peptide, 3 μm silk protein powder and high molecular weight silk peptide lasted more than 1h. High molecular weight silk peptide and silk peptide had better hygroscopic, and hygroscopicity rate after 48 h were 44.78% and 35.30%. 3 μm silk protein powder and silk peptide had better moisture retention and moisture rate after 48 h were 82.29% and 78.91%. Silk protein was non-allergenicity on guinea-pig skin. Conclusion: The new cosmetics composed of silk protein may be researched and developed.
