Yingjia LIU 2,3. The effect of different intensity of aerobic exercise on the level of serum visfatin in obese female adolescents[J]. .
Abstract: 【Abstract】Objective To determine the effect of different intensity of aerobic exercise on the level of serum visfatin in obese female adolescents. Methods 120 obese female adolescents were enrolled in this study and then were randomly divided into control group and three aerobic exercise groups (30 subjects in each group). Subjects in aerobic exercise groups were given a 12-week training program of high, moderate and low intensity of aerobic exercise respectively, which included three 30-minute sessions per week. The levels of serum visfatin of the four groups before and after experiment were examined. Results No significant differences in the level of body mass index (BMI), homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and serum visfatin before experiment were found between the four groups. After 12 weeks of aerobic exercise-training, the levels of BMI, HOMA-IR and serum visfatin were significantly decreased in all aerobic exercise groups. In addition, moderate intensity of aerobic exercise group showed higher reduction of these parameters compared with the other two groups. However, there were no significant differences in the levels of these parameters in control group before and after experiment. Conclusions Aerobic exercise, especially moderate intensity of aerobic exercise, can result in reduced level of serum visfatin in obese female adolescents.
