Abstract: Abstract: Objective To study the nucleoporin 88 (Nup88) and PINCH mRNA level in colorectal carcinoma and cell lines, and further to investigate the potential correlation between them. Methods Nup88 and PINCH mRNA were detected by RT-PCR in 47 colorectal carcinomas, 44 adjacent non-cancerous mucosa, 45 proximal surgical margin, 44 distal surgical margin and 6 colon cell lines. The correlation study of Nup88 and PINCH was carried out by Spearman analysis. Results Nup88 and PINCH mRNA was positive correlated in colorectal carcinoma, adjacent non-cancerous mucosa, proximal and distal surgical margin. In addition, there was a positive correlation trend between Nup88 and PINCH in colon cell lines(r=0.6, P=0.24). Conclusion Nup88 and PINCH were positive correlated at mRNA level, and they might play a role in the tumorigenesis and development of colorectal cancer.
