Abstract: 【Abstract】 Objective To compare the effects of usual clinical doses of dezocine and fentanyl preventing the incidence of agitation in adult patients during recovery period after thoracic surgery. Methods Eighty ASA I-Ⅱ patients scheduled for elective thoracic surgery under general anesthesia were randomly, double blindedly divided into two groups with 40 cases each. The patients were administered intravenously dezocine 10mg(group D)and fentanyl 0.1mg(group F) 20min before the end of surgery. The RSS agitation scale, the incidence of agitation,wake-up time and adverse events were assessed. Results The scale and incidence of agitation was no significant difference between group D and F(P>0.05).Compared with group F,the wake-up time of group D was shorter than F significantly(P<0.05),and the incidence of adverse events of group D was also lower than F(P<0.05).Conclusion Usual clinical doses of dezocine and fentanyl can prevent the incidence of agitation during recovery period after thoracic surgery effectively. However, the incidence of adverse events of dezocine is lower than fentanyl.
