Abstract: Abstract Objective:To investigate the correlation between the presence of anemia in patients with subacute liver failure and the severity and prognosis of this disease. Me?thods:One hundred and eighty-seven inpatients with subacute liver failure from October 1995 to May 2011 were included in the study, and the influence factors and the correlation of these factors with the severity and prognosis of subacute liver failure were retrospectively analyzed. Results:One hundred and twenty-seven patients (67.9%) were diagnosed with ane?mia. The presence of anemia was signifi?cantly correlated with malnutrition, repeated variceal bleeding and the severity of sub?acute liver failure. Anemia increased the risk rate of infection, mortality, and the presence of early-stage liver cirrhosis in the recovery period. Conclusion:Anemia is one of the complications of subacute liver failure, and it is significantly corre?lated with the severity of this disease, influencing the prognosis. The prevention and treatment of anemia is an important link in the treatment of sub?acute liver failure.
