Abstract: Study on expression of NF-κB in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma DongYun Li, RuoRan Mi, QuanXin Qu, Abstract Objective To evaluate the significance of NF-κB expression in cervical cancer. Methods The expression of NF-κB protein was analyzed by immunohistochemistry method. Results There was 74.1%(/42) expression of NF-κB in 42 cases with cervical cancer, 15%(/20) in CIN and 0 in normal cervical tissue. Significant differences of NF-κB expression were observed between cervical cancer, CIN and normal cervical tissues(P<0.05). But there was no significant differences between CIN and normal cervical tissues(P>0.05). In cervical cancers, NF-κB expression was higher in poorly differentiated cases than that in good differentiated cases. NF-κB expression was not associated with age and pathologic types(P>0.05). Conclusion Expression of NF-κB may not be the key mechanism in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, but abnormal expression of NF-κB may be one of the important part mechanisms in the cervical carcinogenesis and progression.
