Abstract: Objective: To explore the relationship between plasma ATGL and related metabolic indexes of Type 2 diabetes mellitus with fatty liver. Methods: Fasting plasma ATGL level of one hundred and thirty-one patients with incipient T2DM,T2DM group (seventy four patients without fatty liver, A group; fifty seven patients with fatty liver, B group) and forty four healthy subjects (NC group)were assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent asssy(ELISA),A comparison about basal materials and ATGL was made between A group 、B group and NC group, correlation of ATGL and basal materials were measured as well, then multiple stepwise regression analysis were made. Results: Fasting plasma ATGL level in T2DM without fatty liver was significantly lower than controls(P<0.01),39.13?23.98ng/ml vs 69.21?27.05 ng/ml. Fasting plasma ATGL level in T2DM with fatty liver was significantly lower than controls(P<0.01),18.25?14.85ng/ml vs 69.21?27.05 ng/ml. Fasting plasma ATGL level in T2DM with fatty liver was significantly lower than without fatty liver(P<0.01),18.25?14.85 ng/ml vs 39.13?23.98 ng/ml. Correlation analysis showed that the fasting ATGL level was negatively in correlation with TC、TG、、Fins 、BMI、HOMA-IR(r=-0. 222 、-0.424、-0.317、-0.200、-0.178,P<0.05). Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that Fins、BMI、TC were independent related factors that influenced the level of plasma ATGL. Conclusion: ATGL may contribute to the pathogenesis of T2DM with non-alcoholic fatty liver.
