Clinical analysis Between Anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and lacunar infarction

Abstract: [Abstract]Objective To investigate the association between anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(AION) and lacunar infarction .Methods Review 79 eyes checked with visual sight,ocular fundus ,visual field ,electro-physiology,fundus fluorescein angiography and CT 0n 53 patients diagnosed as AION ,whom were treated in –patient department from mar.2007to jun.2010.Results All patients were diagnosed as AION.Among 53 patients ,47 of whom were checked with CT or MRI ,while 16 patients were diagnosed as lacunar infarction,the percent to 47 is 34%.Among 53 patients,43.4% which was 23 patients were with high blood pressure; 26.4% which was 14 patients were diabetics; Among those who diagnosed as lacunar infarction ,unilateral AION were 10 patients ,bilateral AION were 6 patients. Conclusions There are strong relativity between lacunar infarction and AION.All the patients with AION have to check with CT or MRI regularly.
