Abstract: Abstract Objective: To analyze the characteristics and risk factor of hyperuricemia (HUA) among coal industry employee. Methods: The survey population in this study is 946 coal industry employees in Tangshan city. Inquiring about the general situation, personal habits, family history of disease, and determination of height, body mass and blood pressure. We analysis indicators of blood uric acid, blood glucose testing, total cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Results: The detectable rate of HUA was 10.7%. There was a remarkable statistical difference of BMI, TG, TC, SBP, DBP in subjects without HUA and with HUA (P<0.05). There is highly rate of men, obesity, current smoking, current drinking, history of HP, HP, dyslipidemia in subjects with HUA (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that sex, obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension are risk factories of HUA. Conclusions: There was a highly detectable rate of HUA in coal industry employee. Abnormal lipid metabolism, HP and unhealthy lifestyle habits maybe its causative factor.
