Abstract: This study detected the expression of WWOX and P53 in the tissue of colorectal Cancer,to discuss the correlation of WWOX and P53 expression and clinical pathologic parameters, and to guide the early diagnosis or judge rognosis of colorectal Cancer and provide theoretical foundation for prevention and clinical treatment. Methods: The tissues from 45 cases of colorectal Cancer and 25 Cases of normal tissues were evaluated for the expression of WWOX and P53 by Immunohistochemical staining methods, the levels of these proteins in tissues with different types and their correlation with colorectal Cancer were analyzed. And the biological behavior of colorectal Cancer Were analyzed, including patients’sex, age, size, differentiation degree, infiltration depth and lymph nodes metastasis. Results: There was a significantly much lower positive rate of WWOX proteins in colorectal Cancer than that in normal tissues group(P<0.05),While There was a significantly much higher positive rate of P53 proteins in colorectal Cancer than that in normal tissues group(P<0.05), The positive rates of WWOX and P53 expression was closely correlated with histological grade and infiltration depth and lymph node metastasis. There was not obvious relation with the patient,s age and gender(P>0.05). the expression of WWOX and P53 gene demonstrated significantly negative relation(r=-0.388,P=0.008).Conclusion: WWOX and P53(wild type) gene are all tumor suppressor gene, and they may have synergistic action in the generating, developing and transferring process of colorectal cancer. The joint investigation of expression has more important clinical significance.
