Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of edaravone on the expression of caspase3 and pdcd5 protein following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) in rats. Methods 108 healthy adult Wistar rats were randomized into normal group, sham group ,ICH group,edaravon treat group .The later two groups were randomized into 8 subgroups respectively: 3h, 6h, 12h, 1d，2d，3d，5d，7d groups after ICH,each group 6 rats.ICH models were prepared by injecting 50μl of autogenous blood into the the right caudate nucleus of rats.The expression of caspase3 and pdcd5 protein was observed by immunohistochemistry respectively. Results Compared with hemorrhage group, the expression of caspase3 and pdcd5 protein of Edaravone treat group weakened after 6h、12h、1d、2d、3d、5dand 7d after ICH （p<0.05,p<0.01）). Conclusion The expression of caspase3 and pdcd5 protein following intracerebral hemorrhage were decreased by edaravone .The injury of intracerebral hemorrhage were protected by edaravone.
