1,. The Prevalence of Lower Extremity Peripheral Arterial Disease in Patients with Cerebral Ischemic Stroke[J]. .
Abstract: 【Abstract】Objective:To access the prevalence of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in hospitalized patients with cerebral ischemic stroke (CIS) by measuring the ankle-brachial index (ABI). Methods:Chinese patients of cerebral ischemic stroke were invited to participate prior to hospital discharge. Data regarding cerebral ischemic stroke risk factors, history of previous PAD, and ABI were collected. A total of 74 patients (41 men and 33 women) were recruited. Results: 20 patients were found to have PAD (mean ABI =0.831±0.079). There were significant differences in statistics between PAD and non-PAD group in diabetes mellitus(P=0.001) and FIB(P=0.001).However, there were no significant differences in smoking history (P=0.228)、hypertension (P=0.359)、C-reactive protein (CRP)(P=0.339)、CHOL(P=0.414)、HDLC(P=0.461)、LDLC(P=0.054)、TG(P=0.235) and LP(a)(P=0.252)。Conclusion: Identification of patients with PAD by measuring the ankle-brachial index is easily done. Hospitalized patients with CIS are likely to have concomitant PAD. PAD in patients with CIS is more popular in these patients with advanced diabetic and high Fibrinogen.
