Abstract: ABSTRACT: AIM: To observe the effects of resveratrol on hemorheology of hyperlipidemic rats. METHODS: 30 rats were divided into control group(NC), high fat diet group(HF) and resveratrol treated group (Res) at random. After having been treated with resveratrol for 16 weeks, Triglyceride(TG) and total cholesterol(TC) in serium were measured. The changes of hemorheology in different groups were detected respectively. RESULTS: Compared with NC group, the content of TG and TC in HF group rats were increased, the levels of whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and the aggregation index of red blood cells and hematocrit were increased and RBC deformability index was decreased in HF rats. Moreover, resveratrol was able to apparently reduce TG and TC (P<0.05); and resveratrol also can significantly reduce the levels of whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and the aggregation index of red blood cells and hematocrit in the meanwhile, increase RBC deformability index (P<0. 05).CONCLUSION: Resveratrol could improve hemorheology property in high fat diet rats and which mechanism maybe related to decrease the level of TG and TC in serium.
