The Changes of Gastric Intestinal Metaplasia after Helicobacter pylori eradication

Abstract: Abstract Objective To investigate chronic long-term effect of gastric intestinal metaplasia after the eradication of Helicobacter pylori. Method the total 319 cases of intestinal metaplasia, including 182 cases of the eradication group and 137 cases remained Helicobacter pylori positive were analyzed the changes with the time. results Mild intestinal metaplasia in patients are significant difference compared with non-eradication group after 12~36 months and 36~70 months, the P values of comparison of two groups are P<0.05 ,P<0.01 respectively. There are a significant difference between two groups in patients with moderate intestinal metaplasia from 36 to 70 months after H. pylori eradication(P<0.05), Severe intestinal metaplasia did not changed within seventy months after H. pylori eradication (P> 0.05). Conclusion The patients with mild and moderate gastric intestinal metaplasia after eradication of Helicobacter pylori can receive long-term effect.
