Abstract: Object To investigate the expression and clinical significance of tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen sTn in endometrium from patients with atypical hyperplasia of endometrium , endometrial carcinoma and benign diseases of the uterine. Also analyze the association between sTn and the pathologic stage , pathological grading of endometrial carcinoma. Methods 160 cases were detected by immunohistochemistry, including 60 subjuects with endometrial cancer, 50 subjuects with atypical hyperplasia of endometrium, and 50 subjuects with benign uterine lesions. Results The positive rate of sTn in atypical hyperplasia of endometrium and endometrial carcinoma and benign diseases of the uterine were71.7%、32%、14%, it’s significantly different from each other ( p<0.05 ) . Patietns with endometrioid carcinoma got sTn positvie in 78% among them, significantly higher than that in patients with benign uterine lesions, atypical hyperplasia of endometrium, endometrial serous cystadenocarcinoma (all p<0.05 ).The positive rate of sTn in patietns with poorly differentiated endometrial carcinoma was significantly higher than that in patients with highly differentiated endometrial carcinoma ( P<0.05 ). Conclusion: sTn may play a role in the tumorigenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma, it should be taken as an potential biomarker for endometrial carcinoma.
Key words: endometrial carcinoma, tumor marker, sTn
