Abstract: Objective To investigate the characteristics of cerebral vascular imaging and the risk factors of stroke in population with family history of stroke in rural areas of Ji County, Tianjin. Methods Area volunteers with family history of stroke were recruited in the study area to undergo computed tomography and computed tomography angiography of the brain as well as physical and laboratory examinations. A total of 281 subjects underwent examination,153 were men and 128 were women. Results The smoking rate, drinking rate, educational level, and low HDL-C level detection rate were higher among men than among women, whereas the high TG level detection rate was higher among female subjects than among male subjects; all of these differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05).38 subjects belong to the stroke group, The age, internal carotid artery calcification rate(ICAC), and internal carotid artery tortuosity(ICAT) rate were significantly higher in the stroke group than in the non-stroke group (p < 0.05) . The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that Age, SBP, ICAC, and ICAT were independent risk factors for stroke. Conclusion For population with family history of stroke, age, hypertension, ICAC and ICAT were risk factors of stroke.
