Abstract: Objective To observe Electrocardiographic changes in patients with acute nonlacunar MCA territory infarction, and analyze the influence of acute insular infarction on ECG. Methods ECG data of 205 patients with acute nonlacunar MCA territory infarction was analyzed retrospectively. Results Electrocardiographic changes in insular infarction group of 59 cases which manifested as sinus tachycardia(7cases, 11.86%), ectopic beat(9cases, 15.25%), ST segment elevation(4cases, 6.78%), T wave changes (13cases, 22.03%) was more than in non-insular infarction group. The difference had statistical significance(P <0.05 or P <0.01). The difference of electrocardiographic changes between patients with left and right insular infarction had no statistical significance(P >0.05). Conclusion The effect of acute cerebral infarction on cardiovascular autonomic function may be mainly correlated with insular lesion. Patients with acute insular infarction are proned to have electrocardiographic changes.
