Abstract: 【Abstract】 Purpose To explore the feasibility of Velocity Vector Imaging(VVI) in evaluation of left ventricular diastolic function. Methods Choosed 61 patients of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and 40 subjects as the normal control group, every patient were examined by VVI work station. 4 mitral annular sites: anterior and inferior from apical 2-chamber views, lateral and septal from apical 4-chamber views were adopted. The early and late diastolic velocity (Ve, Va), the early and late diastolic strain rate (SRe, SRa) were measured, the Ve/Va, SRe/SRa ratio and the mean value of 4 sites were calculated. Results The Ve, SRe, Ve/Va , SRe/SRa of the patients with diastolic dysfunction were significantly decreased compared with the control group in every mitral annular site and Va, SRa were significantly increased(P<0.001). Conclusion The motion of mitral annular could be measured quantitily by VVI and VVI could be used to evaluate the left ventricular diastolic function as a new method.
