Abstract: Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of Snail and RKIP in NSCLC and its relationship with the clinicopathologic characteristics .Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect Snail/RKIP expression in 124 cases of NSCLC and 67 cases of adjacent normal lung tissue .Results Immunohistochemistry revealed that of the 124 cases, there was a high expression of Snail and a low RKIP protein, 79.03% (98/124) and 36.29% (45/124) respectively. There was correlation of Snail and RKIP protein expression with the degree of differentiation of tumor 、TNM stage、 lymph node metastasis and the survival time(P<0.05, respectively). Snail protein levels were negatively correlated with RKIP in lung carcinoma (P <0.05). Conclusion The overexpression of Snail and the low expression of RKIP might be important biological markers for invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.
