Abstract: Calcium/Calmodulin-Dependent Protein KinaseⅡ (CaMKⅡ)has multiple function which made it play a central role in cardiovascular disease. Especially it activates numerous downstream targets in various signaling pathways that promotes vascular disease, heart failure, myocardial hypertrophy and arrhythmias. CaMKⅡ can impact calcium balance and increase calcium leak in myocardial cell via phosphorylating L type calcium channel, Ryanodine receptor (RyR2) and phospholamban (PLN), and regulate ATP sensitive potassium current (IKATP) and late sodium current by affect sodium channels and potassium channels . In addition, It will directly regulate transcription via activating the silk crack the original activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and acetylation enzyme (HDAC). These mechanisms has important roles in myocardial hypertrophy and heart failure, arrhythmia. So weWe focus to demonstrating the structure and action mechanism of CaMKⅡ to improve a new therapy of cardiovascular disease.
