Abstract:

[Abstract] Objective  To evaluate the association of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 regulatory subunit-associated protein 1-like 1 (CDKAL1) gene rs7756992 polymorphism and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods The case-control studies of CDKAL1 rs7756992 polymorphism and T2DM were collected and meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.0 software. Results A total of 11 documents concerning 32 604 diabetics and 23 939 controls were included in this study. The summaryORs(with 95%CI)under allele contrast and recessive model were 1.18 (1.13, 1.23) and 1.34 (1.25, 1.44) , respectively. Subgroup analysis showed the correlation between the CDKAL1 gene rs7756992 polymorphism and incidence of T2DM in European and Asian populations. Conclusion In Asian and European populations, the allele G is the risk factor to T2DM under the two heredity models.
