Abstract: 【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effect of telmisartan on the nitric oxide(NO) and inducible NO synthase (iNOS)of OLETF rats fed with high-fat diet. Methods According to OGTT 2 h and body weight, twenty OLETF rats were randomly divided into the telmisartan group (group L), and the high-fat diet group (group O). Twelve LETO rats fed with normal diet served as normal control group (group NC). At forty-eight weeks, NO, NOS, iNOS, MCP-1and FFA in blood serum was measured. Results ⑴NO in group L was lower than that in group O (P=0.011). iNOS in group L and group O were higher than that in group NC, but group L and group O no statistical significance, compared with group NC, iNOS in group L were marker higher (P=0.024).⑵ The NO was significantly correlated with MCP-1 and FFA(P<0.05). Conclusion telmisartan accommodate iNOS creation by controlling infection reaction, it caused decline of the NO of OLETF rats fed with high-fat diet. 【Key word】OLETF rat; telmisartan; NO; iNOS
