Abstract: Abstract Objective:To investigate the relationship between serum Cystatin C (CysC) and cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods:193 patients to be hospitalized over 2 weeks with CHF were colleced . Left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD) and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)were measured by echocardiography before and 2 weeks after therapy. The level of serum CysC and 6-minute walk test(6-MWT) were determined too.Their results and relationship were compared. Results:The level of serum CysC decreased significantly(P <0.05) after therapy. The relationship between serum CysC and LVEDD、LVESD、LVEF、6-MWT was negative correlation (P <0.05).Conclusions:There were close relationship between CysC and CHF. CysC was a potential biomarker in reflect the cardiac function of patients with CHF.
