Abstract: [Abstract] Objective To investigate the epidemiological features and relevant risk factors of dry eye among police officers in Tianjin. Methods Study subjects were selected through the stratified cluster sampling. After 1077 police officers in Tianjin, including 979 men and 98 women, filled out dry eye questionnaire, the dry eye tests were performed. The risk factors of dry eye were analyzed by the Logistic regression. Results The prevalence of dry eye was 13.74% among police officers in Tianjin. The prevalence of dry eye among policewomen (15.31%) is higher than that among policemen (13.59%). Relevant risk factors of dry eye included video display terminal use (OR=17.886), outdoor work (OR= 2.268) and female gender (OR = 1.493). Conclusion The prevalence of dry eye is high among police officers in Tianjin. Video display terminal use, outdoor work and female gender are risk factors for dry eye in police officers.
