To compare the C with the A20, 10 groups, the differences are statistically significant (P < 0.05). But to compare with the A3 group, the difference is not significant (P > 0.05). (2)The positive cells of bFGF: The differences between control and alcohol group is significant (P < 0.05), and the differences between the alcohol group of different concentration are also significant (P < 0.05). Masson results showed the deposition of collagen in the alveolar interval increased more significantly in alcohol group than the control group, especially in the A10 and A20. Conclusions: Our study proves that the expression of TGF-β1 and bFGF increase in the alveolar type Ⅱ epithelial cells and macrophages as the increase in the concentration of alcohol. A certain concentration of alcohol would cause lung collagen deposition. Our study also suggests that alcohol may be one of the reasons for leading to pulmonary fibrosis.

    2010, 38 (12):  1094-1095 .
    Abstract ( 1411 )   PDF (968KB) ( 2035 )
Objective:To examine the clinical features of patients with late oneset systemic lupus erythematosus (LOSLE). Methods:41 cases with LOSLE between 2007 and 2009 were reviewed and analyzed ,and compaired with 81 patients who developed SLE below 50 by matching their clinical manifestations, laboratory data and complications. Results:Compaired with the control group, the LOSLE group had a lower female to male ratio(p<0.01); but the incidences of anorexia、myalgia、anergy、weight descent、pulmonary involvement、secondary sjogren syndrome and positive RF、positive anti-SSA were significant higher (p<0.05); the incidences of lupus nephritis、photo sensitivity、anemia、leukopenia、platelet cytopenia、malar rash、positive anti-dsDNA and low complement were significant lower (p<0.05). Conclusion:compared with young and middle-aged SLE patients, the clinical manifestations of LOSLE patients’ are atypical, SLEDAI scores are lower, but complications more than the former.

    2010, 38 (12):  1096-1097 .
    Abstract ( 1561 )   PDF (1003KB) ( 2376 )
ABSTRACT Objective:To compare the changes of arch width as well as smile esthetics in patients treated by extraction and nonextraction procedures. Methods: Dental casts of 30 patients treated with extraction and 30 patients without extraction of four first premolars were randomly selected. Arch widths were measured from the cusp tips of the canines, premolars, and molars. Posttreatment arch widths were also measured in the midline at a constant arch depth from the most labial surfaces of the incisors. Standardized frontal photographs of the face taken during smiling of extraction and nonextraction treated subjects were evaluated. Twenty orthodontic doctors judged the esthetics of the smiles. Results: Intercanine width increased less than one mm in both groups, and there was no difference between the two groups. The interpremolar and intermolar distance in both arches decreased significantly in theextraction sample, whereas the interpret molar and intermolar widths increased significantly in the nonextraction sample. When arch widths of both groups were measured from the most labial surfaces of the teeth at a constant depth, the average arch width of both arches was significantly wider in the extraction sample. The mean esthetic score and the number of teeth displayed during a smile did not differ between the groups. Conclusion: The results indicate that arch width is not decreased at a constant arch depth because of extraction treatment, and smile esthetics are the same in both groups of patients.

    2010, 38 (12):  1099-1100 .
    Abstract ( 1652 )   PDF (979KB) ( 2217 )
Purpose Retrospective analysis the serum thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody (TRAb) dynamic changes and its relationship with prognosis in adolescent Graves disease(GD) before and after 131I therapy. Methods 140 adolescent GD were treated with 131I. The patients were divided into TRAb-positive group(n=115) and negative group(n=25)before treatment in accordance with levels of TRAb. TRAb levels were measured after treatment 3,6,12,24,36 months in each group. Result Positive group the incidence of hypothyroidism was 10.4% and negative group was 28.0% (P<0.05).The levels of TRAb increased in turn in positive group from hypothyroidism, recurrence, remission, cure before treatment(P<0.01). TRAb of patients with cure reached a peak in 6 months and returned to normal 36 months. Remission reached a peak in 12 months and increased mildly 36 months. Recurrence showed change of M-type characteristics. Hypothyroidism increased markedly after treatment 12 to 24 months and 36 months was still higher than before treatment. The levels of TRAb increased in turn after treatment 36 months from remission, recurrence, hypothyroidism. There were significant differences compared with cure respectively.(P<0.01) Conclusion Dynamic monitoring TRAb levels contribute to clinical outcome and prognosis after 131I therapy adolescent GD .We should be cautious that therapy adolescent GD of TRAb negative with131I.
