The Clinical Significance of the Relationship of the Heart Valve Calcification and Carotid Intimamedia Thickness and Plaque Integral
2012, 40 (6):
612-614 .
Objective: To Research the Relationship of the degree of the heart valve calcification and carotid intimamedia thickness and plaque integral, and analyze its clinical significance. Methods : With transthoracic Doppler ultrasound imaging device ,the valve calcification of 206 patients were assessed, and all the patients were divided into four groups: no calcification group, mild calcification group, moderate group and severe calcification calcification group according to diagnostic criteria. The general information, medical history, blood pressure , blood lipids were Compared, simultaneous measured the intima-media thickness, soft plaque score, hard plaque score and the total plaque score of carotid artery of all the patients in the four groups. Results: The difference of age, gender, body mass index, smoking status, total cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein of the four groups was not statistically significant. The degree of valve calcification was positively correlated with coronary heart disease rate, systolic blood pressure , pulse pressure, carotid intima-media thickness, total plaque score and hard plaque score (r =0.546,0. 628,0. 512,0.802,0. 628,0.544, P<0.001) , and had no correlation with diastolic blood pressure and soft plaque score. Conclusion: Heart valve calcification can be a tool to speculate the carotid intima-media thickness, total plaque score and hard plaque score.
